The
Wave-LR (Wave Long-Range) is a
high-gain 60 GHz PtP and PtMP wireless station powered by Wave Technology — combining a massive
46 dBi antenna with 1° × 1° precision beamwidth and precision alignment mount to deliver reliable 2 Gbps throughput at ranges up to 8 km across East African long-distance backhaul deployments. Measuring
⌀424.4 × 166.2 mm (⌀16.7 × 6.5") and weighing
2.6 kg (5.7 lb) without or 3.8 kg (8.4 lb) with mount, the Wave-LR features a
UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure with stainless steel mount and IPX6 weatherproofing, supporting pole diameters of
25–76.2 mm (1–3"). Powered by a
Dual-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 at 1 GHz with 512 MB memory. Requires
UISP version 1.4.5 and later. Supports
PtP and PtMP station operating modes with bridge and router mode networking.
The
60 GHz main radio operates across
57–71 GHz worldwide with channel bandwidths of
2160, 1080, and 540 MHz and
16QAM and QPSK modulation. The
46 dBi vertically-linear polarised antenna with 1° azimuth and 1° elevation beamwidth delivers the tightest beam in the Wave product lineup for maximum long-range concentration and interference rejection. The
5 GHz WiFi 6 backup radio with
22 dBi dual-linear polarised antenna and 8° × 8° beamwidth with 20 dB cross-pol isolation maintains link availability during adverse weather across East Africa's variable climate environments.
WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption secures all wireless links.
