The
Wave-AP-Gen2 (Wave AP Gen2) is a
next-generation 60 GHz Point-to-Multipoint access point powered by Wave Technology — delivering 5.4 Gbps throughput through a 90° wide-area sector to serve up to 31 client stations simultaneously across extended ranges up to 6 km. Measuring
158.3 × 286.8 × 100.2 mm (6.2 × 11.3 × 3.9") and weighing
1.5 kg (3.3 lb), the Wave-AP-Gen2 features a
UV-stabilised polycarbonate and aluminium alloy enclosure with IPX6 weatherproofing, supporting pole diameters of
25.4–60 mm (1–2.4"). The dual-port configuration —
(1) 2.5 GbE RJ45 and (1) 10G SFP+ port — provides flexible copper and fibre uplink connectivity. Powered by a
Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 at 1.4 GHz with 512 MB memory. Requires
UISP version 2.4.205 and later.
The
60 GHz main radio operates across
57–71 GHz worldwide with channel bandwidths of
2160, 1080, and 540 MHz and
16QAM and QPSK modulation. The
20 dBi vertically-linear polarised antenna with 90° azimuth and 7° elevation beamwidth delivers wide-area sector coverage matching the Wave AP Micro's sector width but with updated Gen2 hardware and improved connectivity options. The
5 GHz WiFi 6 (802.11ax) backup radio with
13 dBi dual-linear polarised antenna, 95° × 25° beamwidth, and 18 dB cross-pol isolation maintains link availability during adverse East African weather conditions.
WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption secures all wireless links.
Integrated GPS enables GPS synchronisation.
