The
Wave-AP-Micro (Wave AP Micro) is a
wide-coverage 60 GHz Point-to-Multipoint access point powered by Ubiquiti's Wave Technology — delivering multi-gigabit wireless backhaul with a wide 90° sector to serve multiple client stations simultaneously across East African ISP and campus network deployments. Measuring
284 × 156 × 76 mm (11.2 × 6.1 × 3") and weighing
1.3 kg (2.9 lb), the Wave-AP-Micro features an
aluminium alloy and UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure with stainless steel and UV-stabilised polycarbonate mount, supporting pole diameters of
35–60 mm (1.4–2.4"). Powered by a
Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 at 1.4 GHz with 512 MB memory. Requires
UISP web version 2.2.11 and later, UISP mobile iOS version 2.25.1 and later, and UISP mobile Android version 2.27.5 and later.
The
60 GHz main radio operates across
57–71 GHz worldwide with channel bandwidths of
2160, 1080, and 540 MHz and
16QAM and QPSK modulation. The
20 dBi vertically-linear polarised antenna delivers a precise
90° azimuth and 7° elevation beamwidth for wide-area sector coverage. The
5 GHz WiFi 6 (802.11ax) backup radio with
13.5 dBi dual-linear polarised antenna and
90° azimuth and 25° elevation beamwidth maintains connectivity during rain fade or 60 GHz interference events — essential for reliable East African outdoor deployments.
WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption secures all wireless links.
