The
Wave-AP (Wave AP) is a
high-capacity 60 GHz Point-to-Multipoint access point powered by Wave Technology — delivering 5.4 Gbps throughput through a precision 30° sector to serve up to 31 client stations simultaneously across extended ranges up to 8 km. Measuring
212 × 205 × 187 mm (8.3 × 8.1 × 7.4") and weighing
2.3 kg (5.1 lb), the Wave-AP features an
aluminium alloy and UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure with IPX6 weatherproofing, supporting pole diameters of
25–76 mm (1–3"). Powered by a
Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 at 1.4 GHz with 512 MB memory. The dual-port WAN configuration —
(1) 2.5 GbE RJ45 and (1) 10G SFP+ port — provides flexible copper and fibre uplink connectivity to backhaul infrastructure. Requires
UISP version 1.5.7 and later.
The
60 GHz main radio operates across
57–71 GHz worldwide with channel bandwidths of
2160, 1080, and 540 MHz. The
24 dBi vertically-linear polarised antenna delivers a precision
30° azimuth and 3° elevation beamwidth for targeted sector coverage at extended ranges. The
5 GHz WiFi 6 (802.11ax) backup radio with
12 dBi dual-linear polarised antenna maintains link availability during adverse weather — critical for continuous East African outdoor deployments.
WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption secures all wireless links.
