Two antenna modes from one access point The U7 Outdoor can be switched between its internal directional antenna, suited to projecting WiFi down a walkway or across a defined outdoor zone, and the included external omnidirectional antennas, which spread coverage more evenly around the unit. This flexibility means the same hardware can be adapted to different outdoor layouts without needing a separate model for each mounting scenario.
Dual-band WiFi 7 performance Operating across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, the U7 Outdoor reaches up to 4.3 Gbps on 5 GHz, with a rated open-space coverage figure of up to 465 m² (5,000 ft²) when using the integrated directional super antenna, and support for 250+ connected devices. This makes it suitable for outdoor areas where a large number of guests, staff, or visitors need reliable connectivity rather than a single high-speed link to one device.
Weatherproof by design Rated to IPX6, the U7 Outdoor is built to handle direct exposure to rain and dust, with an ambient operating temperature range extending from -30°C to 60°C. Versatile wall and pole mounting options, both included, allow it to be fitted to building exteriors, poles, or fencing depending on the site.
PoE+ power over a 2.5 GbE uplink A single 2.5 GbE Ethernet run carries both data and PoE+ power to the unit, avoiding the need for a separate outdoor-rated power supply at the mounting location. This keeps outdoor cabling runs simpler and reduces the number of points of failure exposed to the elements.

Simplifi Networks distributes UniFi networking equipment to businesses and network installers across Kenya, Uganda, and the wider East African region, where outdoor and semi-outdoor deployments are common across campuses, hospitality venues, and industrial sites. The U7 Outdoor pairs naturally with indoor UniFi access points to extend a single managed network beyond the building envelope.
