U6-Mesh

The U6-Mesh (UniFi6 Mesh) is a high-performance, indoor/outdoor WiFi 6 access point purpose-engineered for wireless mesh deployments where extending reliable coverage across large or complex environments is the primary requirement. With a distinctive cylindrical form factor measuring ⌀48.5 × 159.5 mm (⌀1.9 × 6.3") and weighing just 400 g (14.1 oz), the U6-Mesh ships with wall and pole mounts included for versatile deployment across indoor and outdoor locations. The polycarbonate and aluminium enclosure with IPX5 weatherproofing enables permanent outdoor installation in exposed environments — including hotel grounds, outdoor dining areas, warehouse yards, and campus pathways across East Africa — with an exceptional operating temperature range of -30°C to 60°C (-22°F to 140°F) handling the full spectrum of East African climates. Requires UniFi Network version 6.0.45 and later.

The U6-Mesh delivers dual-band WiFi 6 (802.11ax) with an aggregate throughput of up to 5.3 Gbps across 5 GHz with 4×4 DL/UL MU-MIMO and OFDMA reaching 4.8 Gbps (BW160) and 2.4 GHz with 2×2 DL/UL MU-MIMO and OFDMA reaching 573.5 Mbps (BW40). The U6-Mesh operates at full 4×4 MIMO with 160 MHz channels to create high-capacity wireless uplinks — enabling fast, reliable mesh backhaul between access points without dedicated wired infrastructure. Antenna gain of 5 dBi on 5 GHz and 3 dBi on 2.4 GHz with maximum TX power of 26 dBm on 5 GHz and 22 dBm on 2.4 GHz delivers reliable coverage across 140 m² (1,500 ft²) for 250+ simultaneously connected devices. Supported data rates span 7.3 Mbps to 4.8 Gbps on 802.11ax (MCS0–MCS11 NSS1/2/3/4, HE 20/40/80/160), 6.5 Mbps to 3.4 Gbps on 802.11ac (MCS0–MCS9 NSS1/2/3/4, VHT 20/40/80/160), and 6.5 Mbps to 600 Mbps on 802.11n (MCS0–MCS31, HT 20/40). Channel bandwidth supports HT 20/40, VHT 20/40/80/160, and HE 20/40/80/160 MHz. Up to 8 BSSIDs per radio.

Wired connectivity is provided via (1) GbE RJ45 uplink port powered by PoE (44–57V DC) with a PoE adapter included — enabling deployment anywhere a single Ethernet cable can reach, without requiring a separate power source. Advanced wireless features include wireless meshing, 802.11r fast roaming, 802.11k Radio Resource Management (RRM), 802.11v BSS Transition Management, band steering, advanced radio management, and Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) — ensuring seamless client roaming across large mesh deployments. Captive hotspot portal capabilities include custom branding landing pages, voucher authentication, payment-based authentication, external portal server support, and password authentication — particularly valuable for hospitality and public WiFi deployments across East Africa. Additional features include guest network isolation, Private Pre-Shared Key (PPSK), WiFi speed limiting, client device isolation, WiFi schedules, RADIUS over TLS (RadSec), and dynamic RADIUS-assigned VLAN.

Maximum power consumption is 13W via PoE input (44–57V DC) with included PoE adapter. The white/blue system LED provides operational status indication. Management via Ethernet. Operating frequencies cover 2400–2483.5 MHz and 5150–5850 MHz worldwide, fully compliant with East African regulatory environments. Operating temperature -30°C to 60°C (-22°F to 140°F) with 5–95% non-condensing humidity — one of the widest operating ranges in the UniFi AP lineup, suited to the most demanding outdoor East African environments. CE, FCC, IC, SRRC, and Anatel certified, fully NDAA compliant.
