About the Network Video Recorder Instant
The UNVR-Instant (Network Video Recorder Instant) is a compact all-in-one UniFi Protect NVR combining video recording, a 6-port PoE switch, and built-in HDMI Viewport in a single desktop unit — eliminating the need for separate NVR, switch, and display infrastructure in small East African surveillance deployments. Measuring 220 × 220 × 47 mm (8.7 × 8.7 × 1.9") and weighing 1.04 kg (2.3 lb), the UNVR-Instant features a polycarbonate enclosure and mount with a 1.14" status display and wall and DIN rail mounting included. Bluetooth enables instant out-of-box setup via the UniFi mobile app. Powered by a Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A55 processor at 1.7 GHz with 4 GB memory.
The UNVR-Instant manages (15) HD, (8) 2K, and (6) 4K cameras via UniFi Protect and 50 UniFi Access hubs for integrated access control — all recording to the (1) 3.5" HDD drive bay (11W drive power budget). The integrated 6-port PoE switch delivers 40W total PoE budget at 15.4W per port (44–57V) — directly powering UniFi cameras and access points from the UNVR-Instant itself, simplifying installation across small East African offices, retail stores, and remote locations. The built-in HDMI Viewport port connects directly to a monitor or TV for live camera view without requiring a separate controller or PC — ideal for reception areas and security desks.
