The
EP-S16 (EdgePoint S16) is an
application-specific WISP outdoor control point combining a 16-port Gigabit Layer 2 switch with dual 1/10G SFP+ uplinks in a weatherproof outdoor enclosure designed for permanent pole and wall installation across East African wireless ISP tower and rooftop deployments. Measuring
326.6 × 382.7 × 88.8 mm (12.9 × 15.1 × 3.5") without mount and weighing
3.4 kg (7.5 lb) without or 3.8 kg (8.4 lb) with wall mount, the EP-S16 features a
diecast aluminium alloy and UV-resistant polycarbonate enclosure rated for
153 N wind loading at 200 km/h with 200 km/h wind survivability. The extreme
-40°C to 65°C operating temperature handles the full range of East African outdoor climates.
The
EP-S16 provides comprehensive power flexibility —
(1) DC terminal block 54V DC input with self-correcting polarity protection, (2) passive PoE input ports (ports 1 and 2 at 54V/1.5A 4-pair). PoE output options include
(4) ports (1–4) with 54V or 24V/1.4A 4-pair passive PoE and (12) ports (5–16) with PoE/PoE+ or 24V/0.7A 2-pair passive PoE.
Comprehensive power monitoring covers the DC terminal block input, PoE input/output on ports 1–2, and PoE output on ports 3–16.
Supported voltage range: 42–56V DC (note: -48V is NOT supported). Management via
(1) RJ45 serial port.
Additional specifications:
- Max. power consumption: 40W excluding PoE output
- Wind loading: 153 N at 200 km/h (34 lbf at 125 mph) with 200 km/h survivability
- Operating humidity: 10–90% non-condensing
- LED indicators: system power, RJ45 speed/link/activity/PoE, SFP speed/link/activity
- CE, FCC, and IC certified, fully NDAA compliant
Ideal for
wireless ISP deployments, outdoor network control points, tower installations, rooftop switching, and remote outdoor network infrastructure across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the wider East and Central Africa region requiring
weatherproof outdoor 16-port Gigabit Layer 2 switching with dual 10G SFP+ uplinks, 54V passive PoE output, comprehensive power monitoring, and extreme -40°C to 65°C temperature tolerance.
