AF60-XR (airFiber 60 Xtreme-Range) is a
multi-gigabit 60 GHz PtP bridge purpose-built for the most extreme long-distance wireless backhaul requirements across East Africa — delivering 5.4 Gbps total throughput (2.7 Gbps duplex) at ranges exceeding 15 km with a 5 GHz backup radio ensuring link continuity during adverse weather. Measuring
779 × 664 × 383 mm (30.7 × 26.1 × 15.1") and weighing
8.6 kg (19 lb) without or 13 kg (28.7 lb) with mount, the AF60-XR features a
UV-stabilised polycarbonate and steel enclosure with galvanised steel precision alignment mount compatible with poles of
40–80 mm outer diameter. Powered by a
Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 at 1.4 GHz with 1 GB DDR3L memory. Operates in
PtP mode only in bridge mode. Requires
UISP web version 1.4.3 and later, UISP iOS version 2.20 and later, and UISP Android version 2.21.5 and later.
The
60 GHz main radio operates across
57–71 GHz worldwide with channel bandwidths of
2160, 1080, and 540 MHz and
16QAM, BPSK, and QPSK modulation with
1.4° × 1.4° precision beamwidth and
0° electrical downtilt. The
5 GHz WiFi 6 backup radio with
26 dBi dual-linear polarised antenna, 5° × 5° beamwidth, and 14 dB cross-pol isolation maintains link availability through East Africa's tropical rain events and atmospheric disruptions. Dual wired ports —
(1) GbE RJ45 and (1) 1/10G SFP+ port — provide flexible connectivity options to high-capacity backhaul infrastructure.
WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption with
integrated GPS and
Bluetooth management.
