U7 Lite (U7-Lite)

The U7-Lite (U7 Lite) is a compact, ceiling-mounted WiFi 7 access point delivering next-generation wireless performance in one of the most affordable and energy-efficient packages in the UniFi U7 lineup. Measuring ⌀171.5 × 33 mm (⌀6.8 × 1.3") and weighing just 313 g (11 oz), the U7-Lite ships with a lite mount in UV-stabilised polycarbonate and galvanised steel (SGCC) for clean ceiling and wall installation across offices, retail spaces, and residential environments throughout East Africa. The UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure with white/blue system LED blends naturally into modern interior environments. Management via Ethernet with setup supported via UniFi iOS app (version 10.20.2 and later) and UniFi Android app (version 10.21.7 and later). Requires UniFi Network version 9.0.114 and later.

The U7-Lite delivers dual-band WiFi 7 (802.11be) with 4 spatial streams across 5 GHz with 2×2 DL/UL MU-MIMO reaching 4.3 Gbps (BW240) and 2.4 GHz with 2×2 DL/UL MU-MIMO reaching 688 Mbps (BW40). The 240 MHz channel bandwidth support on 5 GHz (EHT 240) is a WiFi 7 exclusive capability delivering significantly higher throughput than the 160 MHz maximum of WiFi 6 — making the U7-Lite a genuine next-generation upgrade for bandwidth-intensive deployments. Antenna gain of 5 dBi on 5 GHz and 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz with maximum TX power of 24 dBm on 5 GHz and 23 dBm on 2.4 GHz delivers reliable coverage across 115 m² (1,250 ft²) for 200+ simultaneously connected devices. Supported data rates span 7.3 Mbps to 4.3 Gbps on 802.11be WiFi 7 (MCS0–MCS13 NSS1/2, EHT 20/40/80/160/240), 7.3 Mbps to 2.4 Gbps on 802.11ax WiFi 6 (MCS0–MCS11 NSS1/2, HE 20/40/80/160), 6.5 Mbps to 1.7 Gbps on 802.11ac WiFi 5 (MCS0–MCS9 NSS1/2, VHT 20/40/80/160), and 6.5 Mbps to 300 Mbps on 802.11n (MCS0–MCS15, HT 20/40) — ensuring full backward compatibility with all client devices across East African networks. Channel bandwidth supports HT 20/40, VHT 20/40/80/160, HE 20/40/80/160, and EHT 20/40/80/160/240 MHz. Up to 8 BSSIDs per radio.

Wired connectivity is provided via (1) 2.5 GbE RJ45 uplink port powered by PoE (42.5–57V DC) at a maximum of 13W — ensuring the backhaul connection never limits WiFi 7 throughput performance. Note: PoE adapter is not included — a PoE-capable switch or injector supporting 42.5–57V DC is required. Advanced wireless features include wireless meshing, 802.11r fast roaming, 802.11k Radio Resource Management (RRM), 802.11v BSS Transition Management, band steering, advanced radio management, and Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0). Captive hotspot portal capabilities include custom branding landing pages, voucher authentication, payment-based authentication, external portal server support, and password authentication — ideal for cafes, restaurants, retail stores, and hospitality environments across East Africa offering guest WiFi services. Additional features include guest network isolation, Private Pre-Shared Key (PPSK), WiFi speed limiting, client device isolation, WiFi schedules, RADIUS over TLS (RadSec), and dynamic RADIUS-assigned VLAN.

Maximum power consumption is just 13W via PoE input (42.5–57V DC). The white/blue system LED provides operational status indication. Operating temperature -30°C to 40°C (-22°F to 104°F) with 5–95% non-condensing humidity suits the full range of indoor East African environments from air-conditioned offices and retail spaces to naturally ventilated residential and hospitality environments.
