U6+

The U6+ (UniFi U6 Plus) is a compact, ceiling-mounted WiFi 6 access point delivering a meaningful performance upgrade over the U6 Lite with higher throughput, wider channel support, and dual-band WiFi 6 capability in the same clean, unobtrusive ceiling-mount form factor. Measuring ⌀160 × 33 mm (⌀6.3 × 1.3") and weighing 338 g (11.9 oz) device-only or 413 g (14.6 oz) with mount, the U6+ ships with ceiling and wall mounts included for straightforward deployment across offices, retail spaces, and hospitality environments throughout East Africa. The polycarbonate and aluminium enclosure with white/blue system LED blends seamlessly into modern interior environments. Requires UniFi Network version 7.3.76 and later.

The U6+ delivers dual-band WiFi 6 (802.11ax) across 5 GHz with 2×2 DL/UL MU-MIMO reaching 2.4 Gbps (BW160) and 2.4 GHz with 2×2 DL/UL MU-MIMO reaching 573.5 Mbps (BW40). Antenna gain of 5.4 dBi on 5 GHz and 3 dBi on 2.4 GHz with maximum TX power of 23 dBm on both bands delivers reliable coverage across 140 m² (1,500 ft²) for 300+ simultaneously connected devices. Supported data rates span 7.3 Mbps to 2.4 Gbps on 802.11ax (MCS0–MCS11 NSS1/2, HE 20/40/80/160), 6.5 Mbps to 1.7 Gbps on 802.11ac (MCS0–MCS9 NSS1/2, VHT 20/40/80/160), and 6.5 Mbps to 300 Mbps on 802.11n (MCS0–MCS15, HT 20/40) — ensuring broad compatibility with all client devices across East African networks. Channel bandwidth supports HT 20/40, VHT 20/40/80/160, and HE 20/40/80/160 MHz. Up to 8 BSSIDs per radio.

Wired connectivity is provided via (1) GbE RJ45 uplink port powered by PoE (44–57V DC) at a maximum of 9W — deployable from any standard PoE switch port without additional power infrastructure. Advanced wireless features include wireless meshing, 802.11r fast roaming, 802.11k Radio Resource Management (RRM), 802.11v BSS Transition Management, band steering, advanced radio management, and Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) for seamless client roaming across multi-AP deployments. Captive hotspot portal capabilities include custom branding landing pages, voucher authentication, payment-based authentication, external portal server support, and password authentication — ideal for cafes, restaurants, hotels, and retail environments across East Africa offering guest WiFi services. Additional features include guest network isolation, Private Pre-Shared Key (PPSK), WiFi speed limiting, client device isolation, WiFi schedules, RADIUS over TLS (RadSec), and dynamic RADIUS-assigned VLAN.

Maximum power consumption is just 9W via PoE input (44–57V DC). Management via Ethernet. Operating frequencies cover 2400–2483.5 MHz and 5150–5850 MHz worldwide, fully compliant with East African regulatory environments. Operating temperature -30°C to 60°C (-22°F to 140°F) with 5–95% non-condensing humidity — a wide operating range that suits air-conditioned offices, open retail floors, and variable-temperature environments across East Africa.
