DATASHEET

About the Enterprise Campus Aggregation

The ECS-Aggregation (Enterprise Campus Aggregation) is a flagship 1U full-depth rack-mount Layer 3 Etherlighting™ aggregation switch built for East African enterprises, campuses, and data centres that require carrier-grade bandwidth density, complete hardware redundancy, and advanced routing in a single rack unit. Measuring 442.4 × 43.7 × 496 mm (17.4 × 1.7 × 19.5") and weighing 9.9 kg (21.8 lb) without or 10 kg (22 lb) with mounting brackets, the ECS-Aggregation is designed for 482.6 mm (19") four-post racks with post depths ranging from 650 to 1,000 mm (25.6–39.4"). The SGCC steel enclosure and mount with a 1.3" touchscreen LCM display delivers a premium, data-centre-grade installation. Requires UniFi Network version 8.5.6 and later.

The ECS-Aggregation delivers (48) 25G SFP28 ports (25G/10G) and (6) 100G QSFP28 ports (100G/40G) — providing the port density and bandwidth required to aggregate entire campus switching tiers at multi-gigabit speeds. Switching capacity of 3.6 Tbps with 1.8 Tbps non-blocking throughput and 2.4 Bpps forwarding rate ensures true wire-speed performance across all 54 ports simultaneously. Etherlighting™ illuminates all SFP28 and QSFP28 ports for visual identification and network status monitoring across the entire switch face.

The defining capability of the ECS-Aggregation is its Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation (MC-LAG) — must be paired with a second ECS-Aggregation — enabling two physical switches to operate as a single logical aggregation layer, eliminating single points of failure at the core of East African enterprise and campus networks. Layer 3 automatic failover via VRRP provides gateway redundancy, and BGP dynamic routing enables complex multi-path routing across enterprise WANs and data centre fabrics. OSPF support is scheduled for an upcoming UniFi Network Application release.

Hardware redundancy is comprehensive:
  • (2) included hot-swappable 550W AC/DC power modules with 1+1 redundancy — the second module ships in separate packaging and is not pre-installed
  • (5) included hot-swappable fan modules with 4+1 redundancy — one fan can fail without impacting operation
  • Power input via (2) universal AC inputs at 100–240V AC, 50/60 Hz — compatible with East African power infrastructure

Layer 3 capabilities include:
  • DHCP server and DHCP relay for local networks
  • Inter-VLAN routing and static routing for local networks
  • 96,000 ARP entries, 288,000 IPv4 routes, and 256 IPv4 static routes

The comprehensive Layer 2 feature set includes:
  • LACP port aggregation and MC-LAG
  • STP and RSTP for loop prevention
  • Advanced IGMP configuration and IGMP snooping
  • MAC-based ACLs, IP-based ACLs, and device/network isolation
  • DHCP snooping and guarding
  • Egress rate limiting, flow control, MAC address blocking
  • MAC-based port restriction, port isolation, port mirroring
  • Jumbo frames, LLDP-MED, Voice VLAN, loop protection
  • 512 IPv4 ACLs and 512 MAC ACLs
Additional specifications:
  • Max. power consumption: 340W
  • Heat dissipation: 1,160 BTU/hr
  • ESD protection: ±12kV air / ±8kV contact
  • Operating temperature: -5°C to 40°C (23°F to 104°F)
  • Operating humidity: 10–95% non-condensing
  • CE, FCC, IC, and Anatel certified, fully NDAA compliant

Ideal for large enterprise campuses, data centres, educational institutions, healthcare networks, government facilities, service providers, and mission-critical high-availability deployments across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the wider East and Central Africa region requiring 1.8 Tbps aggregation throughput, 48× 25G and 6× 100G port density, MC-LAG high availability, BGP routing, VRRP failover, dual hot-swappable PSUs, and Etherlighting™ visual intelligence in the most powerful aggregation switch in the UniFi lineup.
