The
GBE-LR (airMAX GigaBeam Long-Range) is a
high-gain dual-radio 60 GHz and 5 GHz PtP bridge combining a
38 dBi 60 GHz antenna and integrated 5 GHz backup radio in a robust outdoor enclosure for reliable Gigabit wireless backhaul across East African last-mile and campus deployments. Measuring
415 × 415 × 303 mm (16.34 × 16.34 × 11.93") and weighing
1.4 kg (3.09 lb) without or 1.8 kg (3.97 lb) with mount, the GBE-LR features an
aluminium and UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure with included pole mount. Powered by a
Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A7 with 256 MB DDR3 memory at just
11W maximum power consumption. The
±24kV ESD/EMP protection on both air and contact safeguards equipment in East African outdoor environments prone to lightning and electrical surges. Operates in
PtP mode via bridge mode. Managed via the
UISP application (web and mobile).
The
60 GHz main radio operates across
57,000–66,000 MHz with
2160 MHz channel bandwidth and
38 dBi antenna gain. The
5 GHz backup radio with
11 dBi antenna gain operates across standard U-NII bands worldwide, maintaining link availability during East Africa's tropical rain events and 60 GHz signal disruptions.
WPA2 AES encryption secures all links. The
2.4 GHz management radio operating at
2412–2472 MHz (US/CA) and 2412–2472 MHz worldwide provides out-of-band management capability.
Advanced software features include:
- UISP integration, ping watchdog, SSH server, NTP client, system log, and device discovery
- Antenna alignment tool, discovery utility, traceroute, and speed test utilities
- PtP bridge mode operation
Additional specifications:
- Wind loading: 56 N at 200 km/h (12.6 lbf at 125 mph) with 200 km/h wind survivability
- Supported voltage range: 22–27V DC
- Operating temperature: -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F)
- Operating humidity: 5–95% non-condensing
- FCC, IC, and CE certified, fully NDAA compliant
Ideal for
last-mile wireless backhaul, campus connectivity, building-to-building links, and distributed network deployments across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the wider East and Central Africa region requiring
60 GHz 1+ Gbps PtP performance with integrated 5 GHz backup radio, 38 dBi high-gain antenna, ±24kV ESD/EMP protection, and UISP management at up to 2+ km range.
