UniFi Express 7

The UX7 (UniFi Express 7) is a mesh-scalable, all-in-one 10G Cloud Gateway combining a full-featured security gateway, tri-band WiFi 7 access point, and UniFi Network controller in an extraordinarily compact desktop enclosure measuring just 117 × 117 × 42.5 mm (4.61 × 4.61 × 1.67"). Powered by a Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 processor at 1.5 GHz with 3 GB system memory, the UX7 runs the UniFi Network Application natively, managing 30+ UniFi devices and 300+ simultaneous clients without requiring separate controller hardware. The UX7 can be deployed as a standalone gateway or optionally adopted as a wired or meshed Layer 2 UniFi AP to extend coverage within a larger UniFi network.

The UX7 features integrated tri-band WiFi 7 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) across 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz with 2×2 DL/UL MU-MIMO on all three bands. Maximum throughput reaches 5.7 Gbps on 6 GHz, 4.3 Gbps on 5 GHz, and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Antenna gain of 6 dBi on 6 GHz, 7 dBi on 5 GHz, and 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz with maximum TX power of 24 dBm on 6 GHz, 26 dBm on 5 GHz, and 23 dBm on 2.4 GHz delivers reliable wireless coverage across 160 m² (1,750 ft²). Wireless security supports WPA-PSK and WPA-Enterprise (WPA/WPA2/WPA3/PPSK) with up to 4 BSSIDs per radio in both gateway and AP modes.

On the wired side, (1) 10 GbE RJ45 WAN port (10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M) and (1) 2.5 GbE RJ45 LAN port (2.5G/1G/100M/10M) provide high-speed uplink and network extension capability. IDS/IPS throughput of 2.3 Gbps with 20,000+ CyberSecure signatures provides enterprise-grade threat detection. Advanced networking includes OSPF dynamic routing, advanced QoS, multicast DNS (mDNS), advanced NAT (SNAT/DNAT/Masquerade/NAT Pooling/1-to-1 NAT), integrated RADIUS server with RADIUS over TLS (RadSec), LTE failover via UniFi LTE Backup, IPv6 ISP support, IGMP proxy, customisable DHCP server, and policy-based WAN and VPN routing.

Security features include a stateful firewall, application-aware Layer 7 firewall, DPI and traffic identification, zone-based firewall with advanced filtering across regions, domains and applications, content filtering, ad blocking, VLAN and subnet-based traffic segmentation. VPN capabilities include license-free SD-WAN with Site Magic site-to-site VPN, IPsec, OpenVPN, WireGuard, L2TP, Teleport zero-configuration VPN, and Identity Endpoint one-click VPN for flexible remote connectivity.

Maximum power consumption is 22W via USB-C (5V DC/5A) with an included adapter supporting 100–240V AC universal input — compatible with power standards across all East African markets. Heat dissipation of 75 BTU/hr requires no active cooling. The polycarbonate enclosure weighs just 422 g (14.9 oz) with a 0.96" status display for at-a-glance monitoring. ESD/EMP protection: ±8 kV air, ±4 kV contact. Operating temperature -10°C to 40°C (14°F to 104°F) with 5–95% non-condensing humidity suits variable tropical climates across East Africa. 802.1Q VLAN support with guest traffic isolation. Requires UniFi Network version 9.0.108 or later. CE, FCC, IC, and Anatel certified, fully NDAA compliant.
