One console for the whole UniFi ecosystem The UDM-Pro runs UniFi Network, Protect, Access, Talk, and Connect from the same hardware, which means routing, WiFi management, camera recording, door access, and telephony can all be administered and monitored from a single interface instead of separate appliances. For growing networks, this reduces both the number of devices to maintain and the number of places an administrator needs to check.
Security features built into the gateway Beyond basic routing, the UDM-Pro includes a stateful firewall, application-aware Layer 7 filtering, deep packet inspection, intrusion detection and prevention with over 55,000 signatures available through CyberSecure, and content filtering. IDS/IPS throughput is rated at 3.5 Gbps, giving it enough headroom to run these inspection features without becoming the bottleneck on a busy network.
Flexible WAN, VPN, and routing options The gateway supports multi-WAN load balancing, Shadow Mode (VRRP) high availability, and dynamic routing via OSPF and BGP for more complex network topologies. On the VPN side, it includes license-free SD-WAN, IPsec and WireGuard site-to-site VPN, OpenVPN, L2TP, and Teleport zero-configuration VPN for client access, covering both branch connectivity and remote user access without third-party licensing.
Built-in storage for UniFi Protect A 3.5-inch NVR HDD bay lets the UDM-Pro record from UniFi Protect cameras directly, supporting up to 24 HD, 14 2K, or 8 4K camera streams, removing the need for a separate network video recorder in deployments that combine networking and surveillance on the same UniFi system.
Port layout for both copper and fibre Connectivity includes 8 GbE RJ45 LAN ports, 1 GbE RJ45 WAN port, and two 10G SFP+ ports allocated as one LAN and one WAN, giving installers a mix of standard copper ports for general use and 10G fibre options for higher-throughput uplinks or WAN connections where available.
