High-speed access built for crowds, not just individual devices Support for 160 MHz channel width and 4096-QAM lets the AP772 reach a combined device rate of up to 6.45 Gbps across its 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios. Preamble puncturing technology also allows the AP to work around heavily interfered subchannels rather than losing bandwidth to them entirely, which matters in outdoor public spaces where the AP is competing with other wireless networks and sources of interference it has no control over. With a recommended 130 access users and support for up to 1,024, the AP772 is built to serve a large number of connected people rather than a small handful at maximum speed.
Built-in omnidirectional coverage over a wide radius Built-in omnidirectional antennas provide an optimal experience radius of around 180 metres, working simultaneously across both frequency bands. This wide, even coverage pattern suits open outdoor areas such as squares, walkways, and campus grounds, where a directional antenna would leave gaps rather than blanket coverage.
Industrial-grade protection for permanent outdoor mounting An IP68 rating, a metal shell with heat dissipation, 6 kA surge protection on its Ethernet ports, and an operating temperature range extending from -40°C to 70°C mean the AP772 is designed to be mounted outdoors long-term rather than in a sheltered enclosure. Metal fasteners on cable connectors also help maintain a secure connection in locations subject to wind, vibration, or physical handling.
Fit, Fat, or cloud-managed deployment The AP772 can be deployed in Fit mode under a wireless access controller, in standalone Fat mode, or managed through Huawei's SME Network cloud platform via the HUAWEI eKit App, which supports Wi-Fi-based and barcode-scanning-based onboarding. This flexibility means the same hardware can suit anything from a single-site deployment to a larger network managed centrally across multiple outdoor locations.

Simplifi Networks distributes Huawei networking equipment to businesses, ISPs, and network installers across Kenya, Uganda, and the wider East and Central African region, where outdoor deployments across campuses, event venues, and public infrastructure projects are common. The AP772 fits into a broader Huawei eKitEngine network alongside indoor access points and switches for sites that need consistent management across both indoor and outdoor coverage.
